Avoid Expensive Gym Memberships With Gym Equipment Bargains

Feel the burn of any daily workout, without burning a hole in the wallet! Skip the ride to the gym where it can go for hundreds of dollars to operate on fitness machines that are unsanitary and obsolete. Statistics provided by USA Today show that 67 per cent of gym memberships go unused[1], so even if going to the gym is fantastic, there is a risk that the membership won’t be worth the money. Instead, investing in quality exercise equipment at home is safer, more affordable, more convenient, safer, and can help not spending money over time because it lasts for years!

Gym Memberships are Obsolete

The reality is that at fitness centers, the equipment and services are often obsolete, meaning that all of the membership’s money is actually not being put to the great use. Getting a gym membership is often very expensive, though gyms also seek to confuse their clients in a variety of ways. One tactic that they use to take the mind off the price is to split their expensive annual fee into what appear to be small monthly or bi-weekly payments. Often they also have introductory periods where the gym membership for the first few months is at a affordable , low price. Once the trial period is over, they may hike the price exorbitantly. Gym membership prices also tend to rise every couple of years, so keep an eye on the bill.

Aside from the expense, there are also other causes of concern at gyms. For example, hygiene is a major issue at gyms. Gyms are traps for germs. As reported in an article by Business Insider, 70 percent of the bacteria found on exercise bikes, treadmills and weights in gyms are harmful.[2] Gyms also converge traffic at certain times of the day. When working out on the gym equipment at home, there’s no need to waste time waiting to use a particular exercise machine, as well as who used the equipment last and when it was properly cleaned.

It’s easy to track exercise progress and physical parameters using a personalized application on any device. Personal trainers are no longer needed to achieve great workout results. So why bother with a gym membership when everything can be done at the ease and comfort of home.

Gym Equipment has Never Been so Affordable

It’s easy to find affordable quality exercise equipment online. Prices range from a little over $200 for a strength-training machine to $500 for a treadmill. But it’s possible to opt for a branded workout bench that go for a bit over $100 and provides hundreds of workout options. Home gym equipment can last a long time, so safely forgo the annual gym membership and invest in some quality gear. With proper maintenance, gym equipment can have a lifespan of well over seven years, even with regular use.

In addition to not spending on a gym membership fee, salvage the time and money elsewhere. Rather than work up the motivation to travel the distance to the gym, all that’s needed is motivation to get to the living room! Exercising at home is more convenient and allows the planning of all the workouts more efficiently. In case there’s lack of space to store the large gym equipment,  there’s always the option to purchase a set of  weights that can be easily stored in any closet or corner of the apartment.

Research conducted by Livestrong shows that many stores lave the lowest prices of exercise gear in the spring and at the start of summer.[³]

Look Into Used Gym Equipment

There’s no need to always purchase new. There’s always the possibility of getting the equipment in great shape through second-hand providers. We recommend skipping garage sales. The safest bet is to purchase online from a reliable vendor. Items sold online usually have issued warranties. Always remember to inspect the state of the equipment before making a purchase.

Summing it up

Gym memberships are not the only way to stay fit. Investing in home gym equipment can motivate anyone to work out more often and develop a healthy routine. Evaluate the options by looking into reviews!
